One of the best things about orthodontics is the excitement of my patients. I love that each person is enthusiastic to begin treatment and thrilled as they see their smiles brighten!

As an orthodontist, I appreciate that no two people are alike. Each person presents their own unique situation, treatment needs, and personal goals. Working with my patient, and often their parents, we develop an individual treatment approach that best meets their needs.

In addition to considering aesthetics, I look to design a plan that corrects or improves function and bite. I want each patient to finish with optimal oral health and a breathtaking smile that brims with confidence, that they will enjoy for life!

Education and Experience

Prior to practicing orthodontics, I obtained my:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Millersville University of Pennsylvania
  • Master of Science in Statistics, Penn State University
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
  • Certificate in Orthodontics, University of Florida
  • Master of Science in Oral Biology, University of Florida

I have practiced orthodontics for over 20 years and love serving my community in this profession. Being an orthodontist offers me many wonderful opportunities to help people love their smiles, improving their self-esteem and developing greater confidence.

Each person in my care is considered family. I always look to what is in their best interest now, during treatment, and after they finish. I never recommend care that I would not want for my own children, never push a certain procedure, and refuse to overdiagnose or overtreat.

Having seven children myself, I greatly value the trust and confidence people place in me and our team when they allow us to care for their family members.

Professional Affiliations and Continuing Education

I am an active member of the:

  • American Association of Orthodontists
  • Southern Association of Orthodontists
  • Florida Association of Orthodontists
  • American Dental Association
  • Florida Dental Association
  • Central Florida District Dental Association
  • Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Dental Honor Society

These organizations offer numerous continuing education (CE) opportunities. Throughout the year I complete many CE hours: taking classes, attending meetings and lectures, and participating in hands-on seminars. I also study the latest journals, keeping current on trends and emerging research.

Ongoing learning keeps me professionally engaged and constantly expands my skills and knowledge, ensuring my patients receive the best care and outcome. They deserve nothing less.

Beyond the Practice

I grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in what is known as the Pennsylvania “Dutch” country. Flagler County has been my home since 1999; my wife Jill and I are thrilled to have raised our family here. We have seven children, some of whom are now adults and some who still live at home with us.

When I’m not working, being with my family, including our Australian Shepherd, Mocha, is my priority. We have a cattle farm and I enjoy various projects associated with that, and I also like fishing and hunting.

On a deeply personal note, my greatest passion and personal devotion is to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and in ministering His love to others through every area of life.
